Yes, it is broken, but what does that say really? The truth is that it`s not all bad like complainers love to post. Many people (that rarely get so vocal about it, maye because they`re playing the game instead) don`t even have to try to get fun out of this product. But you ofcourse tend to say it`s completely broken, which is lying to those not able to check what state the game is in.
And stop saying the whines are good in any way. They aren`t.

Which doesn`t mean that it`s not worth the price or unplayable. You will never find a post with me saying there isn`t a sound bug but I don`t even need to search for posts which daily lie that the game is unplayable.
This forum will not affect sales to the degree you suggest. Poor reviews will, but not posts on a forum aimed at a niche market of simmers (who all knew what CloD was before it hit the market).
Furbs is not directly saying the game is terrible; rather that it could be so much better (and we were under the impression it would be so much better on the day of release; such information is irrefutable. Don't be naive).
Many can enjoy the game, but it depends on what you are after; a sterile simulation of some of the A/C in the BoB or an actual simulation of the battle itself. The former has easily been achieved, but the latter not so much. Indeed, for onliners the online game is largely broken now, so it is easy to see why Furbs is struggling to play the game. But he wants to play the game! He wouldn't post here and send the team useful information on 1940's houses if we wanted the game to fail. What you mistake as pointless moaning is, in fact, moaning with the incentive that his moaning has been caused by the state of the sim which, as I said, could be so much better.

I don't see why you care so much. Luthier was thick skinned enough to admit the game was in a terrible state on release, and he is not enough of a drama queen to get his knickers in a twist over some posts on an internet forum.

But thankyou, Car-Guy, for entertaining me with your hypocritical nonsense about who can post what, when and where. And your moaning about moaners is second to none. Leave them be, and the environment would be a lot more peaceful.

This communication issue is a bit of a wierd one.

I think we got used to Luthier posting regular patch news in the early days of this sim, and now that the patches have been moved to a longer schedule, we don't really have anything to go on, news-wise, on a weekly basis anymore.
Many of us are sitting on our hands eagerly awaiting that weekly slice of news, and the longer we wait the more agitated we become. It becomes a bit of an obsession.
To me many if not most of us here are a little bit guilty of micro analysis, in that every little aspect of this game, mostly the broken stuff, has been discussed again and again and again, and a tunnel vision, almost obessessiveness, has developed.
It's like when your favourite football team has hit the skids and fans go into panic mode and post and talk obsessively about what's wrong and what the manager should do. You desperately want the situation to change but you can't do it yourself, so you think, analyse, vent, fret, moan and worry until the crisis passes.

I was starting to obsess a bit a few weeks back, and for me the best thing to do was to just go do something else and take my mind off it all for a while. Not saying everyone should do this, but it does help to put things into perspective a bit.

Anyway, my point is that the forum feels agitated, maybe more than is neccessary, about the fact that we don't hear too much from Luthier these days.
But having said that, I find it puzzling that mere days before the US launch, we still haven't had any news. I don't see them postponing the launch again, not at this late stage, and to hear absolutely not even a snippet of news is not acceptable, at least to me.
The community manager never appeared, and proposed more regular updates have not either.
I can't really blame people for being annoyed by the situation, but again I think that the annoyance has for some, gone well beyond annoyance or agitation, and they're driving themselves nuts.

Just to clarify,i want to buy the sim BUT i cannot justify spending the money on upgrading my computer to run it + the cost of the game on the off chance it MAY be completed oneday and the lack of input is such a poor selling point.
When you are struggling you get a better response from others and leeway if you keep communicating, explaining.

Carguy, i brought COD for online, SP for practice but 90% for online. For me the sim is broken, i expected when i paid my money for COD that i would at the very least have the same level of function as IL2, it didnt, not even close.

It says COOP on the box, you can look on your very nice collectors edition box. but you cant play COOPs on the battle of Britain map.

Servers keep dropping from steam after a hour or so but the main bug is the very well known no sound bug. Do you expect people to play without sound?
Would you agree that its a game breaking bug to not have any sound?

so i decided to practice offline but what i found was the AI is worse than IL2, what with AI that can perform like F-16s, but cant hit you if make even the slightest turn(they still cant fire defection), plus it seems that after about 5 mins somebody rings a bell and the AI give up and fly home in perfect formation which allows you to shoot down the whole lot.

So then you fly home, and find as you touch down, your whole flight piles into ground next to you.

So whats left? oh yes, i can go sight seeing.

Now hear this Carguy, i don't know why you seem to think your the internet police here but people can post what they like within reason. its not up to you to tell me what i can or cant post.
i don't care if someone posts how much they like COD, im happy for them, great!.
i don't give a "boob" what you say and nothing you do is going to stop me moaning about the "boob" state COD is in....so do us both a favor, put me on ignore.

A typical error easily avoided.
When you return to base, start circling and you will see that one by one your wingmen peel off to land.
So, if you a bit patient, you can finish your flight in a nice and orderly manner.

That is a steam-error that can't be fixed by the devs.

Fixed that up a bit for you slightly less pseudo swearing y'know is a bit unneccassary. You certainly have every right to voice your complaints, and the other chap has a right to reply if he wants. It is quite something that the feelings run so hot on this game - alot was expected and not quite enough was delivered (yet) for many people but the passion is a good sign I think (I hope)

MP sound is broken - until the next update we can stop complaining about that can't we? of course if it doesn't get fixed in the next patch then by all means voice the complaint again as loud as you can but we have been informed that the problem is being worked on as a priority. I'm sure I read here somewhere that a post on sukhoi.ru translated as - update this week if all goes to plan, and if it dosn't? well it won't be too long now, what with the US release and all. Just a little bit of patience, I know, I know maybe you feel is asking rather a lot but surely is better than getting all wound up?

In regard to the poll atm it looks like about 60/40 - unhappy/happy (to simplify a bit)

So, you say there's 400 Multiplayer-Titles+ on Steam and only the servers of CloD disappear... due to a Steam error?
