Just as a word of encouragement, i just flew a offline quick mission and had my first believable dogfight with a AI spit!
No F-16 rolls and the blighter was performing some rolling scissors with me beautifully, trying to get home when damaged but still fighting back when attacked.

Very well done indeed!

Where do I put these files and do they delete the original ones? Should i save the originals? Also, if a new patch comes out will these files be overridden by new patch and cause problems? Should I put back the originals before any new patch?

Try putting the .mis files directly into: '\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\parts\bob\mission\Quick\'

Yes (so if you don't make backups it's not that big of a deal)

You don't have to, Steam will revert them to the originals when the official patch comes out.

I appear to have mucked this up. I downloaded the compressed files and then extracted (couldn't work out how to copy them) to IC softclub blah blah "mission" and then when this didn't work to Program files (x86) and then to where my other clod directory is to be found and into "quick" but again nothing happened. Also, when you look under Quick Missions when playing single player there are no new duplicate missions in evidence.

Anyone able to tell me what I'm doing wrong?
