I think they should just not say anything about when they expect a patch. I wanna know what they are working on, but no more timelines, no more Maybe this week maybe next. Too many people here think the forum is made of stone, and that everything written in it is law. Take the Eagle Dynamics mind set, it will be available for download when its ready, dont ask when that is, its done when its done.

I haven't had any enjoyment out of this game yet, because I'm still waiting on a patch to fix all that.

I would be careful what you say because I'm sure many will except your offer of $50 just to go away.
Yes I agree.... the needs of the Many will "except" the offer...as you say...

and out weigh the needs of the few that will "accept" the offer....

Apologies to Spock

These things are easily said and far less easily proved, and considering the nature of your recent post I'm quite frankly inclined to disbelieve.

If this is actually the case, why have you not volunteeered your 'expertise'? If you are so passionate about this sim as you so claim, why not offer to help? You clearly think you are qualified enough.

Instead you sit back bitching like every other critic round here, fanning the ill-feeling and slowly helping to drive nails into the coffin lid of this project.

norhing short of simply ridiculous! if your brain does see that as a valid, mature and acceptable excuse, I would say that you have a high fever at least..
Oh, I forgot that you know everything about how simple it is to run a software development company, and you obviously have some source or window into the lives of all the development team at MG and are intimately aquainted with the various ins and outs of the project management and decison making process to make such an accusation and feel it is credible...

Your suppositions are based on a minute percentage of the information available and one helluva lot of imagination.

Clearly somewhere some bad decisions have been made, and the knock on effects are still being felt now, amplified even. However where you see theives, fools and incompetants I'm more inclined to put myself in their situation and try and empathise, imagine what my feelings and motivations might be, and see some chaps in a bad place working hard to correct some bad luck and bad choices - it's what I'd do in their situation.

Which leads me to.....

Ha! Your entire diatribe proves entirley otherwise. Go look up 'understand' in the dictionary - it means to comprehend, empathise, reach a level of compassionate intellectual syncronisation. You have shown sweet Fanny Adams thus far.

The fact is I understand your frustration, I'm in here every Friday too hoping for a fix. The game was gifted to me by a friend so I'm not out of pocket it like a lot of others but it has cost me in some regard - I've been following this title as long and with as much anticipation as anyone else and want to see a comprehensive fix as much as the next guy.

What I don't get is the bitter, stinging slanging and treatment of the dev team - what on earth do people think it will accomplish?? We just widen the Gulf between client and developer, demotivate the very people we want to work to fix our issues and risk at the very least losing features we'd like to see cos they won't bother listening or worst case the entire title and we'll be stuck with a lame duck forever more!

Why is this so difficult to comprehend?!

Im not a "hater" and i dont think anyone else is, here or at SimHQ. SimHQ extended discussions is a place where you can speak your mind openly without fear of being banned if you are unhappy with the state of CLOD. The discussions there while heated sometimes are friendly and without malice.

Chivas and myself have being "discussing" CLOD for well over a year with out either of us resorting to attacks, abuse or any bans.

And Frey, you were banned for personal attacks in the forum you said you would never visit but couldn't help but attack people. Since then the forum is friendly and with out problems.

Worrying though is a Mod labeling some forum members "haters and trolls". I thought mods were superposed to be unbiased, how can we be sure of fair and unbiased moderation on this forum with comments like that?

What you just described is known as beta testing in the software world.. Minus the square one comment, which is just your opinion.

Which is true of many software companies..

Where they found it silly to spend a lot of time and effort explaining the results of a beta patch..

In that the full intent of a beta patch is to release it knowing in advance 'some' aspects are unfinished, un-optimized, or flat out broken

But the purpose (hope) is by releasing a beta patch they can obtain feedback from the community as to 'other' aspects of the program.

Which is what they do with a final release patch, but don't do, on purpose, with a beta patch.

The whole purpose of putting out a beta patch is to 'see' if it works..

If not..

Find and fix what is broken..

wash rinse repeat

Until they can find no more errors

And even after all that there is no guarantee (ie be 'certain')

But they do this so they can be as 'certain' as they can be when they release the 'official' patch.

The only real mistake 1C makes in all this is when they assume the users of beta patches understand what beta patch means. In that based on the responses in this thread and others that is clearly not the case!

We also know what an Alpha build is...which is what got boxed up and put on the shelves pretending to be retail only to get the attitude later "Sorry...we needed your money"

It ain't my kitchen.
It ain't my pot.
It ain't my job.
It's our "stew".

I don't mean anything ugly by that above...
I'd just like to have a downloadable Steam Patch for this sim.

Like others....I'm tired of Stewing,
Stirring and the like.

later....
