Ho hum. No improvements for me. Frames per second still capped at 27fps on high settings, and stays at 27 even when turning everything down to lowest. Not quite high enough to play, but just enough to piss me off.

I5 2500k, 16Gb DDR3, 1 Gb GTS450.

Il2 Clod, does not work like most games. Imagine you have a puzzle in a box (your PC) and all the pieces to make that puzzle in your hands ( your settings) you have to match the settings to your PC in a strange way. Some times more is better with Clodo... You NEED some things on high and some on medium etc, its not as obvious as it seems in my opinion.

I know what you mean. I think I've pretty much exhausted every combination of settings though, so I'll just set the game aside again until some later date.

I don't see why are you pissed, 27 FPS is a pretty good result in a GTS 450.

I, like many will wait for the actual patch, but thanks for all the feedback..sounds like a step forward.

Remember it's a Beta !

Has anyone looked at the Spit skins/weathering?

Is the Spit still stuck on max weathering ?

Still waiting for the game to 'settle down' before doing any campaign building...

Regards

Simon

Well, this one is definitely worse than the last beta (+fix) for me

Over populated areas fps went down from 25 to 15-20 so that it is just not fluid anymore and stutters are definitely much worse for me.
Especially noticeable when panning around with TrackIR. Looking around from front of the cockpit to the planes six i have at least 2-3 pauses ( each perhaps 1/10 sec. long ).
Very distracting ...

Bummer, have to disable shadows again. With last beta i was able to enable shadows and have a fluid sensation of flight even over large cities, not anymore ....

Just had a furball over Hastings on ATAG with 4-6 planes. FPS went down to lower 10th, perhaps even below. From memory this was not the case with last beta.

I’ve only had time to test using the Black Death track, and recorded the following:

Ver.17582: 42/99/7 (avg/max/min)
Ver.18301: 40/95/5 (avg/max/min)

Settings: 1920 x 1080, all quality ‘High’, AA, A-EF, SSAO and VSYNC ‘Off’, Grass, Shadows and Roads ‘On’, using SMAA and cpu @ 4.20GHz.

Subjectively, the first run displays less hesitation when caching textures and differs little from subsequent runs – seems to me that this function has been tweaked? The only graphic glitch I saw were the burning aircraft through the BF109’s fuselage when it flies part the runway, which is as it was previously.

The biggest news for Cayman users is that there are no longer blue lines displayed on the horizon at low altitude

Update: despite the BD track results, in-game performance seems to have improved. I flew the quick missions over Dover, Le Havre and London and found frame rates to be generally higher. Flying between the chimney stacks in Le Havre the frame rate is now limited by VSYNC (I only disable this when running the benchmark), and at 500 feet over London I previously had 29-34fps, now I get 36-42fps with no visible graphic difference. The new tree LOD is a bit distracting, but the missing blue lines error is the biggest improvement for me.
