the skin you want to do would be bad to see. it is a static one, in the meaning that the reflection are fake, while in the enviroment like the water, the reflection are dinamically rendered by the graphic engine.
In Il2 it is functioning because all the textures are less precise and less realistic. But if you really want to try.. metal texture tutorial research
