Metallic skin
Does someone know how to do this sort of skin with gimp ? Or does someone has already seen a tutorial (i accept even in english :-P). i have search on internet but didn't found something very accurate yet. I thought it would be wonderful to fly with such a plane.

That is not a texture, but is hardcoded as a hardware shader effect in the game engine, but is not being used in the actual released game. May be in futures updates / expansions.

I thought it was possible because i have seen this for il2.
|
Well, what do you see?
I see alot of grey, in varying dark and light shades. And there's your answer. |

Maybe it would have been better to read more carefully my post.Actually i asked for help to make this art of skin :grin:

the skin you want to do would be bad to see. it is a static one, in the meaning that the reflection are fake, while in the enviroment like the water, the reflection are dinamically rendered by the graphic engine.
In Il2 it is functioning because all the textures are less precise and less realistic. But if you really want to try.. metal texture tutorial research |
I know what you're trying to make.. I've seen them before (back in old IL2), and they look good..
I've been wanting to make a nice polished aluminum bf109 skin myself :) You'll find some tutorials here.. http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/forums/ Don't forget to share your creation with us ;) |
