I have no problem with the mods deleting "troll threads"... I also have no problem with them banning self proclaimed trolls.

Maybe.Its O/T for this forum.But thats between Oleg and 1C,and as the developer of il2 he is probably given some leeway.

I think we all know that thread's & posts about SOW are not a problem here. It's the negativity that can be a cause of boredom, when repeated to offen...the game is coming soon

SoW threads obviously ARE a problem here.Any new thread on SoW quickly degenerates into arguing between forum members.
This is not a 'hobby' board,its the official forum of 1C publishing,and people are wrong if they think they can say anything detrimental about its products,or future products.
I doubt that would be allowed on any official company forum.This forum has suffered in the past because it had a sort of 'anything goes' laid back moderating style.Perhaps they have woken up to the fact that constant attacks might actually do them some harm.

More than half the board consists of OT-posts if SoW is considered OT, including Olegs News-Thread-Sticky...

But some trolls really tried to top each other in the last few weeks, especially when 409 was closing in and some official audience visited the forums more frequently.
And several people violated the forum rules in the sticky and even complained in regard to that and the new patch. So I can very well understand why some people felt the boot.

I can think of one person who, that on the day the patch came out, had nothing better to post then his negative diatribe against Oleg & company... This person all but claimed that he had a "license to troll", because the mods had never closed any of his topics. I believe that his logic was; "the mods probably approve of my stance because they never banned me."

when i saw tree's purpose made whine-thread yesterday my reaction was the same, booooooring !!

i think he believes his constant complaining will get a quicker response out of oleg and Co, and acts as if he personally is owed something from the universe because oleg said something, somewhere, sometime in the past. but i think it makes absolutely no difference in that regard, and the constant negative posts always on the same topic just get rather boring

since he hasnt posted in the last 24 hrs he is probably on a short time ban and got his buttocks spanked for stepping over the line

no need to vilify the mods over it either, tree himself would have known where this was leading to

while we'r on the topic, where is those september in game scenery screenshots we were going to get ?

thats because we humans in situations like this are like hounds before the hunt, we can smell the fox but the gate hasnt opened yet to let us into the chase

by all indications oleg is on track for an early 2010 release, the closer we get the more boisterous the crowd gets
