Where to buy crystals?

My memory is a little rusty, but I seem to remember you could buy magic crystals somewhere. I earlier skipped taking the alchemy skill, looking down on it with much contempt

, but after spending 40+ crystals to inscribe level 3 lightning I am left wondering whether I did the right thing.

So, is there any shop that sells them? Or was I thinking of Armored Princess?
