Default One step forward 2 steps back

Well once again the patch as made things worse on my pc, all that waiting for nothing, still getting online CTD's (not fixed Luthier). FPS as dropped not doubled. I am hoping that is some kind of joke but I really do think these guys are serious. Like moths round a lightbulb.

dude, I haven't reinstalled it yet, but I was wondering whether you 100% excluded all other possible causes from your disappointing experience.
Installation, drivers, settings.. I know this might have already been asked, but you never know really.

Hi Mate I think you may have some other issues because i have spent quite a few hours online today and havent experienced a single CTD. The AVG FPS went up for me by 12% to 60FPS and Max went down by 10FPS at 140FPS though which is fine by me. I would rather have smoother higher AVG than higher max with stutters like before. I dont think they were claiming higher Max FPS but I could be wrong! Maybe on lower end systems??!?!??!!?

Yesterday I was 3 hours on the ATAG server and even escorted 5 Ju 88 on their bombing run. It stutters on some points but no CTD on my side.

By the way Tree, set your PC-hardware in your Sig. Might help the developers.

I agree, a constant high average fps should be the goal of any game developer. I don't need 100+ fps if it means it might dip down to single digits at times. Give me a solid 30+ average fps without a FPS roller coaster and I'm happy.

Default havnt been flying much but

I must say since I've had my new gtx680, the game has been great with an avg of 70-80 fps...

I defo think the few of us with high spec systems (esp memory and gpus- nvidia!) Will see less issues now! Will need to have a decent session online tomo to see if and when ill get a ctd (which in the past has usually been a coiple of hrs).

As for everyone else... Well...

My quandary with the AlphaBeta is that it's main goal seems to be to solve CTD problem which has only been a very minor nuisance for me, until this new patch! OK so the FPS and smoothness haven't been the greatest, but I've got 95% of the eye-candy turned on, and very playable (in smaller scenarios) on my aging rig which I originally spec'd out in 2008, and has been continuously upgraded so I now have 4 GB RAM, quad-core Q9650 OC to 3600 mhz, and a GTX570. Oh and Win7 64, naturally.

must indicate if much of the code has been re written or overhauled to such an extent then it is actually 2 steps back and for good reason. if i were involved i think getting the system back to where it was previously is quite important and i think they have achieved that as far as i can tell given consumer reports.

it is where it goes from here on that matters, if the code is proved solid enough then incrementally we can or should maybe see it get better. thats my hope tbh. i presume it was so bad it did need re writing ? that is the story for the overhaul isnt it?

we need to indulge in some logical thinking here about the state the sim is in with a healthy does of understanding about starting from scratch ir near enough.

simply put, it may not be good but maybe they are where they should be given the re write. painfull yes, understandable yes, worth predicting outcome, not quite yet.

this is my nuisance self simply trying to apply some logic to it all. sorry if i offend anyone elses wizdom on the matter.

Unhappy

I Never ever had a CTD (Launcher Crash) with CLOD until that patch.... then after the Alpha/Beta patch, is was a ctd with every game start...

(there were a couple times I got to fly up to 20 minutes before CTD! wooo hooo (NOT).

needeless to say, it's impossible to play,,, I sent my dmp files and uninstalled the patch version...

I have no clue how he came up with some little .08 number of ctd,, because my was 99.9% ctd... (every time I played..).. I tried online and offline about 10x...

I thought about shaking a dead chicken, and looking into files and al the voodoo.. but I had enough..

Someome let a huge stinker out of the barn... how??? why???
