Default No.401 Squadron Scramble Night #2

Attention all RAF Pilots!

No.401 Squadron will be running another mission on Tuesday, April 10th starting at 8:30pm Toronto, Ontario time (use your favorite time zone converter to work out your local time). We will be flying on the ATAG Axis vs Allies server.

I will keep the briefing short because loose lips sink ships and all that. We will be conducting a fighter sweep and may or may not encounter enemy contacts. For more information, join us on our joint Teamspeak server (the 501/64/401 squadrons teamspeak server) on Tuesday at around 8:00pm (again, Toronto time).

We will be flying Hurricane (ROTOL) aircraft.

Pilots are responsible for staying in formation. If you lose the formation repeatedly, we can't keep swinging back around for you. Also, unless it happens right at the start of the mission, we will not be reforming with players who experience game crashes.

Connection info for our Teamspeak server:
  • Open Teamspeak 3
  • (menus) Connection -> Connect ->
  • enter 85.236.100.27:24637 in the ip field
  • enter your nick in the nickname field
  • Click connect
  • Double-click on the 401 "City of Westmount" Squadron channel to move to our channel

Hope to see you there!

Wolverine

Why not use the ATAG TS server instead?
We are move than happy to create a separate channel for the squadron if wanted.

I mention this because is nice to be able to see who is on TS and if we all use different servers, that is not possible.

Hi Colander,

We have our own TS and anybody who is 401, 64, 501, JG26 will meet on it. We are used to being on it because we often fly in our own server.

Sometimes however we do head over to ATAG or individuals will be in ATAG comms, rest assured if you see us flying in ATAG we will always be on comms, yours or ours. Thanks for your offer of our own room but it's not necessary since if we are on your comms we want to be mixing with others anyway

Just a friendly reminder that tonight is the night for this action! Check the first post for details and join us! Take-off is 8:30pm EST SHARP! Arrive on comms early to learn the details of the mission and airfield.

Can't be too careful with all the Luftwaffles about!

Organized events and such I tend to prefer operating from our TS since it helps reduce the cross-comm talk that happens. Some people join the ATAG comms and look for the the channel with the most people in it and join, regardless of whether or not they are in that flight and it can get a little too chatty for my liking - especially when you're not familiar with the voices. Someone calling out a contact can be problematic if you have no idea if that guy is with your group or not.

I'm too polite to ask people to leave the channel

If I'm just flying on my own without the squadron, I'll join ATAG's teamspeak no problem.

Wolverine,

I understand. That's why we have configured password protected channels for some squadrons (which we could do in this case too).

I was unaware you were setting up password channels for other squadrons. Cool, I'll sort that out with you for the next event.

Cheers,

Wolverine

Yes, any squadron wanting a private channel can feel free to contact me or any other ATAG member.
