Default Luthier - what ever happened to your wonderful Korean models?

I remember fondly some absolutely stunning models of a mustang, a twin mustang, a mig-15 and a La-9.

Please tell me there are still plans afoot for these to one day see the light of day in game?

They are too beautiful to simply rot on a hard drive somewhere.

I still reckon a Korean war senario would be the best - a wonderful mix of the early jet fighters and very last generation of prop driven fighters.

The F4U-4, Sea Fury, F-51, La-9 and Fairey Firefly all come to life - I drool at the idea.

Hmmm....

I somehow fail to grasp the historical correctness of your needs in conjuction with the imperative requirements for improvement of what is already in place and Luthier's timetable...

Naturally there's still a ton to be done here yet but I do agree that a Korea sim with this game engine would be orgasmic! Also Vietnam! Imagine how many pages there'd be of people complaining that the F-4 phantom's sidewinders are undermodelled.

Whenever I watch Dogfights on History Channel I think of our IL2 and how good these theatres would be.

In time yes...it would be wonderful to fly a Mig 15 or F-86 for starters.

The timing needs to be right though...it would feel strange to me to be in the middle of WW2 only to be yanked away for Korea or Vietnam, and then back to WW2 again.

Hopefully, Clod will surpass the original Il-2 in size and scope, although that would take a huge amount of manhours not to mention a lot of time.

I believe I can recall in that post with the pictures of the Korea stuff that this was a third-party type team that were developing for SOW:BoB engine. Or that a certain section were developing this. I know one thing for sure, that the 3D modelling and texturing does NOT take 5-6 years to finish, at least when it comes to making planes in 3D. The animation however may take some, then finally the coding for FM/DM etc that takes ages and many rants/whines and patches to fix I think they could easily put more resources into side-developing future addons in the 3D departement of the company.

Then again, I really really hope that we don't see Korea until we're all sick of flying B-17's/24's and mustangs against 109G's or K's and 190's :p
