Default Just experienced the lack of hit sound problem.

Was online for the second time this afternoon and was set upon by a 109. I was trying to evade but the plane did not feel right, looked over my right side and saw my wing was full of holes, went external and saw half my elevators shot away, my rudder in tatters, fuselage looked like Swiss cheese.

Never heard one hit on my aircraft.

Very disappointing.

I think I'm going to step away for a couple months as clearly the sim isn't even close to being a release candidate.

Not angry about it, just feel sad for Oleg and his team being forced to release too soon by a greedy publisher.

The sim has lot's of promise. Be sure.

But it's not ready for prime time.

Not even close.

I'm pretty dissapointed too, it seems that we are the "beta tester crew" here.

yep, seems quite a few sound bugs. Don't even hear the engines of planes that fly past your canopy. I'm sure they'll address it at some point, because it really is an immersion killer.

Now imagine how the Russians felt with the unpatched version. I bought the Russian version pre patch and it was a slideshow at ALL settings. We are only just getting to the stage where performance issues are being addressed. Unfortunately there are many MANY other issues that haven't even begun to be looked at. The sounds, the FMs, the DMs, the AI, no FFB support... well you get the idea.

One for the future, as you quite rightly state. Though the publishers are not the only ones to blame for the standard CoD was released in.

Why are people getting upset that this sim is not finished?? It was made very clear on the day the release dates were announced that it would be a paid beta during the period before the USA release:

I can confirm this sound bug. In multiplayer in a spit I flew over the German airfields and the flak opened up on me. I had heard that the flak was just a visual effect and didnt really work, dunno where perhaps I just dreamt it, so I just ignored it. Anyhow after a couple of circuits of the airfields looking for the enemy I decided to come down a bit for a closer look.I got "upsun" did a quick 180* then dived down towards the airodrome. After a quick pass seeing nothing I climbed out and intended to turn back towards the airfield.
The plane would not bank, I looked at my port wing and it had a bloody great hole in it and the aerlion wasnt working. By now I was hoping no Me109s would appear turned for home on my rudders and started praying I would see good old Blighty once more.
Sods law at this point my engine gobbed a load of oil over my windscreen and lost power. I eventually had to ditch mid channel as I reckon I was to low to jump.
To get to the point of this sorry little saga I NEVER HEARD A THING when the flak blew off half my wing and hit my engine.

As I said in my post, if you read it, I'm not angry or upset. A bit disappointed to be sure, but not angry. It's just a game after all, my life does not depend on it.
