flickering with ATI drivers 10.8 and 10.09

Looks like I may roll back (again) to 10.7 unless someone knows a fix. I have tried different resolution and AA setting. Any ideas? Anyone else having the same problem. My version is purchased via STEAM.

just enter the game then castle or menu or something a few times it will go away after a minute or less and won't bother you until the next time you start game. 5850 here.

Flickering ATI Radeon 4890 , Catalyst 10.9.
Retail DVD version.
Only started to flicker after applying 1.7 patch. No change in Graphic options has any effect.
Goes away after a while.



It will not get fixed.
