Ali- those are just super. Wow, the terrain really is showing up a lot better after the patch. Guess you were right after all - that it was more of a lighting/shading issue than texture issue. Have you noticed any changes to the terrain textures at all? I still haven't had time to play with the new patch, but I am truly liking what I see from these screens.

ive not had a dump today ! (hehehehe)

but really ill eat my hat if those textures have changed. im liking what they have done to invoke these new additions.and i think i got my head around how theyve done it too(see end of post) !, but they need tweaked severely. between the blinding sun and the haze (which i think is dynamic BTW !) there is to much of it. and its resolution needs broadened where the effect is concerned.

by dynamic i mean it does dissipate a little the close to the ground you get. need to play and witness more to get to grips with it.

alas its time for a dump \o/

EDIT : after a long dump no change to textures that i can see, and thanks for the understanding about my comments and conceptual understanding.

and !not sure but i found this stuff in there. might have been there before but theres alot of it (cg files)

There is no doubt in my mind now about how great this will be eventually.

The really patchy look of the terrain seems to have much decreased, I guess owing to the increased diffuse scattering of haze. Atmospheric perspective seems to be nicer too, and flying at altitude looks very convincing. Tonight I will definitely take a scenic tour with the new patch.

Very excite.

ive been playing with contrast on my system and it does make the grey haze look better, i feel whoever tuned it has got lower than average settings for contrast.

Is it just me or do your clouds look much better as normal as well?
Terrain really looks good now.
With the new transparent shorelines, do waterlandings look better as well? from inside the cockpit/

Maybe you mean he got higher than average settings for contrast, and that lead him to make haze appear ever darker on a normal contrast setting display..
