well, I did the trick phoenix1963 suggested, and while making things better, after about 2o min. of flight the sounds were muted again, stuttered for a bit and then utter quietness...

Overall performance improved slightly.
I'm not able to max out the game visually. The edges aren't smooth, i've seen better visuals in CoD before. Does this relate to Crossfire? Changed all settings one by one to sort it out. Drivers were changed to 11.5.

As you were!
I'm now certain that the lastest patch 1.01.14550 has made the stuttering worse - it was good under "medium" settings with the previous patch - now the stuttering is very evident on "medium" settings. I'm also now getting teh graphic glitches on land and sea (junks of water on land, and land on water, that appear and then disappear). Sorry, but I believe we've gone backwards with the latest patch. I must say ... I'm still unbelievably impressed with this sim - I'm confident it will soon be running well. The attention to detail etc is mind-blowing - it's the playability that now needs attention.

Well this "FIX" fucked it up again for me.
The screen is flickering from black to ingame back to desktop and it takes ages to kill the game via taskmanager. Not able to get into the game for playing. However this is my system: I7-920@3.01ghz;HD5870VaporX;6gig Ram;Win7-64bit. cat 11.3 Playing on Fullscreen,1680x1020(?)...one below FullHD at least. I will check to get a log file i can send to Luther. -> Fullscreen fucked up since latest fix for me! Back to "Pseudo" Mode .....dont get a PR Manager,...save the money for a one more programmer...lol! Positive: the PP is working on keys aswell as on axis. performance seems to be slightly better ~ 2-4fps. Last edited by Ivan Fooker; 05-21-2011 at 09:12 PM. |

OK finally I had more time to test....aand..its much better now. Online that is. On my rig CLOD runs great (most settings at high, grass and shadows off) now. Sounds is ok now as I tried what somebody suggested with my sound settings in win7. Altough it was pretty slow when i was looking with max zoom flying over trees. All in all, at least now I have hope LOL.

I am noticing little "knix & knax" before firing the MgFF or the 20mm.
Flying with the PP is really great now! Congratz on that fix! A bit annoying it is initially on 10:50 (?)...at least not at 12:00h. |

I think it starts with a pitch for low RPM due to having airstart missions in the QMB.
The new pitch control is awesome (even though it's currently reversed, pressing the key command that raises the RPM on other aircraft actually lowers my RPM in the DB equipped ones), more historically accurate and more precise, but it also has a realistic limit on how fast it changes and that makes it slower than before. If we were starting a QMB mission on the 12:00 position it might over-rev the engine before we could bring it under control. We would have to chop the throttle to contain this and in QMB it's not really practical to deny yourself speed at the initial merge. Actually, 9:50 is pretty close to the cruise setting i use (10:10) and the spawning speed is close enough, so i just advance it to 10:10 and increase RPMs only if i want to climb after the initial merge. |

OpSys: Win7pro 64bit Processor: Intel Core2 Extreme Q6850 @3.00Ghz Ram: 8GB Corsair Video card: ATI HD4870x2 Display: Benq24 1920x1200 (59Hz) Direct X: DirectX11 Sound: Creative SB X-FI After flying 5 missions at 60fps +-, the fps started to drop away to 32fps, then down to 17-20fps. Then suddenly the sound cut-out. I restored the sound by getting out of the game then restarting it, though the fps was still low at 17-20fps. Another observation flying at 60fps, as soon as I (CTRL'd F2) to another aircraft the fps dropped to 32fps and stayed there, then gradually dropped away to 17-20fps. With this version I noticed some graphic issues, mainly over the sea, though their were some on the land - see thumbnails attached. When flying a mission with German aircraft taking-off at the same time as you (in Spitfire) there is another dramatic drop in fps. Several members have mentioned some type of 'memory leak'. I think the RAM is being used effectively at the beginning of the mission, then for some reason it is staying used and not renewing its full capacity as the mission progresses, which ultimately drags down the fps. I have tweaked my ATI Catalyst 3D controls to get the best fps 60-70+fps, then the whole fps gradually dies while flying the missions. To compare fps, I flew a few missions in IL-2 1946 - 140-170fps during flight and 450fps in the mission selection screens? Ilya and team, these are the fps target rates you have got to eventually try and get to? DFLion |
