I just a go with one on line. Sure is does have the speed to climb and an excellent roll rate but it is really bad to fly. I never got a single kill using it. Admittedly I only got shot down a couple of times because of the roll and speed but it was really hard to aim precisely.

She takes a lot of practice but it's worth it. I used to fly them almost exclusively in Warbirds online. Just remember, stay up high and look for unsespecting targets. Never EVER get into a turn fight, once you lose your speed you are a sitting duck. In fact try not to turn at all unless you are above and away from all hostiles. There used to be a book you could buy online called Butcher Birds Guide to a Free Lunch. I was written by the best 190 pilot in the virtual skies. It had great tips for flying the beast (I have a copy somewhere). Unfortunaltely the author passed away and it is no longer produced. You may be able to find a used copy online though.

It looks as if the book is out of print. I work in publishing so I'll check to see if anyone still holds a copyright. If it is not under copyright I will scan my copy & make it available to you guys.

Oddly enough the Yak is my favorite ride when im flying allied. Good roll rate, small target, and the guns are lethal (not a whole lot of ammo in the cannon though).
What about those early migs though? their pretty but come on. You would think that modern russian aircraft would be Y-29 and so forth. Maybe I just don't know how to fly em.

The MiG-3 etc were slow and lagged seriously bad. They may have looked fast, but their engines just weren't up to it after bad constructing and other things.

I am a self-admitted Germophile. Better dead than red! Actually, I have been flying around in a La-7 and enjoying its characteristics while testing out some various planes. The turning fight is sooo boring to me and I want to learn how to do some rolls and diving attacks. I tried again last night with the 190 and I can't even do a simple loop before the plane stalls out and starts spinning. Has someone who is familiar with the 190 tried out the flight model in BoP?

Cheers for that! the 190 was a ripper of a plane and the rotary engine made it a bit different to other land based fighters (Anyone know why Roatary was preffered by Navies and in line and V engines for Air Forces???)
