I notice quite a few posts in reference to the Arcade damage model. Let me clarify my concern.

If BoP were to be released with no real competition, then this would not be an issue. That is not the case. HOE will soon hit the market with a rush of aggressive advertising, flashy colors, and impossible physics.

And the casual gaming community will eat it up.

Why? It's fun. Arcade mode should be fun. Arcade mode is NOT fun in BoP. If I can whiz about the skies at 900km, take a turn at dead throttle and not stall, have unlimited ammo, fuel AND defeat a freakin’ spitfire with an I-153, why does it take an obscene amount of damage to get a kill? I can’t count how many times I was in a dogfight for the duration of the game session, getting hit after hit (for crying out loud he’s been blowing black smoke for the last five strafes!) yet NO KILL. NOW I head over to SP and I’m almost a KM away killing a BOMBER with one good strafe. WTF? !? HOE will be able to offer immediate gratification, no matter how unrealistic it may be. If it is fun that is what people will continue to play I’m afraid, leaving the BoP MP community in dwindling numbers. I understand Realistic and Simulation mode needing to up the ante as far as the damage model goes, but that is for a different demographic. Think of how many gamers would actually be playing CoD if the only difficulty was Veteran or Hardcore? I am really concerned about the longevity of this game in the online world.
