It's certainly more rewarding. The Spitfire is so maneuverable it's hard to go wrong. The P-51 can still handle well, you just have to have to be smooth with her.

The P51 is using the cockpit from the P47 Thunderbolt.

Haha oh yeah, how did I not notice that? I've flown the both the Thunderbolt and the Mustang loads in Pacific Fighters.
![]() I just loaded it up to check. It seems so obvious now. I guess I just concentrate on whats on the other side of the gun sight ![]() The P-51 has a lot more square, 'modern' look doesn't it; a bit like the FW190 (Which I think looks like the interior of an 80's car!) lol Must have been awesome to fly back then. |

Couldn't agree with you guys more. I did wonder if it was harder because of the added weight of the rockets. Hopefully it is a little bit more forgiving in MP w/o them, but, currently, I cannot fly it w/o combat flaps.

Exactly. I actually really like the handling on the P-51. It's slightly more of a challenge, but for me it feels a lot better, and a lot more smooth.

sorry to ruin the party but i prefer the spit because it turns better i think a turn fighter can beat a BnZ fighter (with a lot of WEP usage)

Take the elevator sensitivity down 3 or 4 blocks and just be smooth with all you inputs. It takes some practice to not yank the stick when you're in trouble (especially when you're plummeting headfirst into the ground).
To gain on a bandit, I do lots of yo-yo's and don't copy their feints; they love the rolling scissors though so careful you don't overshoot. Do some lag turns too - don't always try to tighten the radius. The 190 has good acceleration so will fair better out of that move than you. Quote:
But like you said, it takes a different style to fly well. It's like going from a sports car to a muscle car. Both are capable, just different. |
