Actually my knowledge of the I-16, is that it only had 4 Machine-guns. I don't think they ever equipped the I-16s with cannons, but they could have on the Biplane versions: I-152 (Something like that?)
But I meant the part in your post, where the noobs outnumber the vets
That's what I meant by the massacre statement
EDIT: The I-16s did have 2 20mm cannons, but it didn't work well. That's the info I got about its statistics.
