IIRC Elite Games still "Kind of" exist as some people are left on their website https://www.elite-games.ru/conferenc...51e6729c87181a who were involved with the game.
But since they were mostly modders, one can't really call them a studio tbh, so I dunno. Kinda sad honestly, even if the source code of the whole game plus engine would leak right now I probably wouldn't even wanna touch it. Legacy C++ projects are stuff of nightmares.
