Crazy resolution change after pressing "Quit Mission"

First right click anywhere on your desktop, click display settings, then click on advanced display settings at the bottom, this will give you the recommended settings.

Instead of manually adjusting the config.ini, launch your IL-2 your game, click on setup, the click video modes, and adjusting resolution to your computers recommended settings. Also probably want to make sure you are on Open GL and not direct X.

Oh and make sure used Wide Screen FOV is off.
