I expected to see the latter Channel battle with Mk V & 109-F or even 190s; just fixes with gargantuan waiting times between patches.

Since the next chapter of IL2 won't be anything really new (eastern front again) I wanted to know if I can finally buy the game expecting some serious third party addons (not patches) like happened to IL2 or just pass once more...

Suggest me
Well, CloD is worth its price... it`s like 10 bucks, so you won`t do anything wrong... If there is going to be some new theatre, it will be malta becaus of the planes that already exist...

Yes I just came to know about the price. Do you really think is it possible to see major additions to CloD or just suppositions ? Is there for CloD some "Team Daidalos" that is going to produce something like that ?

I don't get it. You mean: "Wait for the next title" or what ?

Thanks guys, I'll have a look there, but if this is the general situation I suppose it's better to wait for the next chapter. Maybe expansions will be on the way with it.

Apart from the stupid rest of your post, what's this supposed to mean?
I'm just asking for somekind of expansion I would be happy to pay for.

I'm afraid it came across as a complaint...

I'm sorry if there is this frustration you talk about, but really I had no idea. I just felt disappointed for the tone of Osprey's answer, I happy to know that he's such an active member then.

However, I just had a look at the link Sokol provided and I see TF is working on a Malta idea. This is what I wanted to know and obviously I'm interested in help.
Yes the expansions are coming but it will take much longer than a paid development team. If you can help then please do so, if not the best thing you can do is get involved by actually playing and spreading the love for COD.

If you are just looking for action then take a look at Air Combat Group, we are always looking for pilots:

Well there is a compliant but towards the producers that in my most humble opinion "abandoned" a game they already delivered way below the expectations.
Modders as always have my praises and considered the complexity of the models in game it's understandable the time it takes. What I meant about the setting and the new planes was not directed to them.

I sent a PM to Bliss already and I'm waiting for his response btw

Nice to have you onboard, caprera!

Would be great to see you once in the online skies of ATAG or Storm of War.

caprera, what people are trying to tell you here is:

times have changed. It is not 1946 anymore...
This also means, that you just can not add a new plan within a couple of weeks. Every new addition made to the game takes hours and hours of time. The new reflections you see for example took 3 men to work for 3 months....

Team Fusion is doing a great job. They are investing a lot lot lot of time for free! Just for the Community...

What this also means is: You should not except anything. Be greatfull for what TF gives you, but don`t dare to ask for things. This is in some way unrespectful towards TF as they give their best and they really do it with passion and what`s most: they do it for free.

And what you already may have noticed: Some people get a little upset with you bumping in like "now that trouble seems to have gone, can I have all the good things?". The Community went trough a hard time and in some way everyone contributed to keeping the game alive: may that be with organising campaigns (e.g. osprey) or supporting ATAG with money or only keeping squadrons alive...

I personally do not have a problem with you coming and asking, but please try to understand people. There was a lot going on... and there is a lot of frustration around which is understandable...

AND: For the official part: The development of the Cliffs of Dover engine has stopped. You wont see any official add-on for this game engine. With the announced game, a whole new chapter will begin.

If it hasn't been said already..

Don't go by the date that CloD was released, go by the date that the public got the official word that there wouldn't be anymore patches (we all thought that the producers would be patching this game, and had no reason to have people/community working on patches).. The work TF has done, hasn't taken as long as one might think.
Plus.. The producers DID have pictures of new planes/scenery/season. We all thought this was going to become a reality until Black Six's post at 12-11-2012, 04:58 AM introducing the new IL2 that 777 is working with 1C on. Or if it was sooner, I'm sure someone will correct me.

Good things sometimes come to those who wait.
