I have that exact ASUS monitor running at the res and it seems very playable to me, it varies from 25 - 60 FPS depending on whats going on, now I know 25 seems low but the trick is not to get too caught up with the FSP counter as much as looking at how smooth the game runs, and with the new team Fusion patch it is very very playable for me in all situations.
I don't quiet run at max graphics buts it's very close to it and it looks and play great. My system is very similar to yours except I'm running duel 680's with 2Gb ram each, but as other have here have said CLOD definitely doesn't make much use of SLI so I'm not making much use of em but for me personelly it still is plenty smooth both online and off.
And besides, that res is fantastic in all my other games, very much worth the upgrade
