I'm reading the book "A Higher Call", right now. It's very interesting and well written. What amazed me was that Stigler was friends with so many of the top, well known aces, and that I had never heard of him before.
I've read many other books about the German fighter pilots, and don't ever remember him being mentioned. Now, I have to go back and see if Galland, or Toliver, etal, referred to him. The portrait of Galland in this book, btw, is very different from the description of him in "Spitfire On My Tail". binky9
