I normally go online at ATAG using teamspeak and if there are a few people online 20-30+ is quite common. Even with 270ms ping rate I get much better responce and less warping than I get in the original IL2. The Scripted missions are really good especially the ones with radar plots and the Refuel and rearm. On special events they can get 100+ online at once, though the mission objects normally get blitzed and they are short matches. Edit - just saw your post about on-line - dissregard comments where appropriate. |

Never, I don't have time to set aside for dedicated game playing. My flying happens with lots of other activities at the same time and extensive use of the pause button |

I have flown online, and even enjoyed it. But mainly it seems to be twelve-year-olds that want to shoot, get hit, respawn, shoot, get hit, respawn, etc, ad finitum - not my idea of flight or history. |

There was no pause button in history either.
Just saying. In any case, this bickering is pointless. The game is dead. I don't care how many people fly it currently, it's as dead as a door nail. No chance for further support, no expanding of theatres of operation, no new aircraft, nothing. It's a pity, this is true, as the flight experience is unmatched by any other props and machine guns sim. But it's now just a dead end and a sad footnote in the history of computer gaming.

That's right, there weren't any computer simulations either...

I spend most of my time in the Blenhiem trying to avoid fighters and I find that the low down detail and variety of objects available for mission builders is great. It's a pitty we didn't get a chance to expand into other theatres where mud movers would have more prominence. Cheers! |
