Default Whaaaaaat?

Ok.. hoping someone can give me some pointers here...

Just upgraded from a painful HD6770 1gb to a GTX660 SC 2gb. I used driver sweeper and ensured that all the AMD/ATI drivers are gone before installing the driver that came on the disk with the graphics card and then updating to the latest driver from the website......

....and CloD actually runs worse!

I've tested all my other games and they now all run on Ultra settings.

Help please!

Delete your cache folder and conf.ini file inside the 1C SoftClub folder found in My Documents and allow the game to build new ones.

For sure!

Going to be a bit busy at the moment as I'm doing voluntary work and have a job interview tomorrow (Everyone cross your fingers for me. lol)..... but, hopefully, the game should be a lot more stable for me now and make online play a little better. Went for the upgrade a bit early, as you can see, using the dreaded credit card! lol I'll use my xmas money to pay that off and then, I'm thinking, it is time to get the old flexible friend out again and change the mobo, cpu and get some serious ram in the old machine.

Good luck with the interview, that's the most important thing!

(Actually, I see the date, I hope it went well )

Well, did you get the job?

What settings do you use for CloD? My major "tweak" to a better gameplay was to lower my expectations...

Well.. won't know if I've got it till at least a week's time.... cheers for the "good lucks" Interview seemed to go pretty well though. Fingers crossed

Lower my expectations? lol I figured I would have to do that but..... lower my settings? It is actually running worse on this graphics card than it did on the HD 6770 1gb! I'm certain it isn't the card or incorrectly installed drivers etc as I am now able to play all the Total War series on Ultra settings, with Darthmod (Essentially hundreds of men with 40 unit armies!), Crysis 2 on full (With the directx11 & Hi res textures)..etc...etc...all as smooth as a hot knife through butter..... and yet CloD happiness eludes me. lol I wasn't expecting miracles as I know the CPU and ram need an upgrade (Next on the list) but I wasn't expecting these kind of problems at all.

The really infuriating thing is that I can actually fly with everything on high, shadows etc.... until the dreaded Bomber formations turn up... what is it, specifically, about bombers that makes even the mere suggestion of their presence somewhere out there cause my PC to grind to a slide show?

Offline mainly. Online..... well.... I've never managed to get close to a bomber formation! Mainly because, on the old card, every time I tried flying missions my game would turn into a slideshow, I'd lose the entire squadron and then go face first into a hill.

Been using "Bomber intercept over London" (With autopilot) as a benchmark as Black Death stutters way too much (Mainly when the radio kicks in) so never provides a real measure of performance for me.
