I use a 40 inch Telefunken. I will not change back to anything smaller. I sit about 1 meter away, picture looks great.

I'm currently using an LG 32" LED 1080p with no problems, although I prefered a 42" for spotting ground targets, where maybe a 40" would be perfect for me. I've been thinking about trying a Plasma since the burn in problem isn't as bad as early plasma tv's, but I think the smallest 1080p is 42".

You all use tv about 32" or little more? For me, tv starts from 40".

There is no doubt, that a tv is not optimum for gaming. And an ips panel is even more behind concerning timings. But it is up to, if you can live with a slow tv and sit 1m away or you have a desk, where you sit 70cm away. I think, that most people sitting in front of a tv never informed in that topics or do not want to pay another money for extra monitor or the higher amount of money.

For fast gaming you should use a tn panel monitor, for slower games and better picture, you can use an ips pabel monitor. And for tv you should use a tv.

When you think about that, the next step is to evaluate the distance you are sitting and the resolution you prefer. In my example, I sit about 50 - 70 cm away and I prefer a 27" or bigger. But important for me: A Dell Ultrasharp 27" monitor with higher 1440p resolution do not get a bigger picture, than my 24" 1080p, but I would like to have it natively bigger. So, my intention is to buy again a 1080p, but in 27". This is optimum for my sitting position.

Important for me: I want an optimized monitor for my pc gaming. So I cannot use a tv, as it often has a bad response time or a high input lag.

No input lag at all on my TV, no matter what I play (ClOD, ROF, Red Orchestra 2).

??? Sorry.....but......omg!!! Every monitor has an input lag! It is just important, how big it is, not your own imagination of it. What suites you could be a total no go for another gamer. Just wanted to mention that.
