S!

Well..IL-2 is a mixed bag. For offline players it offers absolutely nothing as a stock install. With add-ons it becomes a lot better but the AI hampers the experience beyond frustration.

Graphically too much legacy from original IL-2 like the "LOD sphere" and popping up buildings/clouds/grass etc, some effects and list goes on. The much touted "future proof" gfx engine does not mean it should require a damned CRAY to run it, but having a solid base on which to build and add features. Wasn't it modular structure in CoD? Really hope they pull the act together in the sequel.

Weather and all that would be nice to have if implemented right, but not a true requirement if it takes too much power to use it feasibly. The game itself while having clear improvements over IL-2 just feels like a quick revival of the original series added with some extra graphics. IL-2 franchise has been alive over 12 years now and the devs SHOULD have a grasp how to make things and how not IF they have even reviewed their work.

So yes, by all means bring features in IF they work, but the core game must work before that. And as a sidenote, Wild Bill Stealey from the long gone MicroProse is starting a new flight sim project it seems
