I never get close enough to notice the weathering effects on the skins.

Even when you look out the side of your own aircraft at your wing?

When I'm in my own aircraft I'm looking for dots, not at my paint job.

Of course, but you do see it?

It's not that important when flying combat missions or online, but if i could choose between having it look better and what we have now, i would choose the better looking.

Plus for movie and screen shots makers its more important.

Honestly? No. My attention is outside the aircraft, and 99% of the time, I'm trying to look around the wings, not at them. It's like driving your car. You can technically see the hood (what do brits call it? The bonnet?) but do you ever actually look at it while driving? Nope.

I can barely tell the difference between the skins that the OP posted and the current skins, because it's just not that important to me.

All you have to do is look at the latest crop of Call of Duty games to see what happens when you value graphics over gameplay.

Who said anything about valuing gameplay over graphics?

Here is just the difference between two types of weathering in CLOD, one looks better than the other.

Simples.
