To steer your RAF fighter you must use your rudder pedals (not toe brakes) to turn in the desired direction, then apply the brake key to tighten the desired turn as necessary. Although not animated in this sim, depressing the brake key/button activates the brake handle located behind the spade grip on the control column. There is an air pressure gauge on the left side of the instrument panel that functions, and you can clearly see which wheel brake is being engaged when you manipulate your rudder pedals.
This final patch has softened up the braking force exerted; before it was far too sensitive and you could easily flip nose down even at very low speeds.
