CLoD, at release, had an engine which was replaced not that long ago... CLoD, final patch, runs the new engine

BoM, Sequel (not patch) will be (is expected that there should be, at least) further inprovements to that new engine, which was re- written for CLoD

GUI, is just pictures/ icons/ buttons instead instead of 2 foot long DOS commands
