Had exact same problem with my 460 GTX. Carried on for ages as I thought it was software related (You Tube vids were the worst offenders, whereas games were more stable) Eventually it got to the stage you describe and I got my supplier (PC Specialist) to give me a new card as it was less than a year old. Not had a problem since.

I suspect that your problem lies with your graphics card, Farber, although a duff PSU is also a possibility

Found another setting in the gfx in BIOS. Seleceted PCI slot as default device as the mobo has an onboard gfx set... If it still plays up I have a hammer that will definatley fix it.

Hi guys, I just bought Cliffs of Dover on the bargain table at the local games store took it home, jumped through all the hoops like downloading steam and getting an account with them. Anywho, I set up my joystick and keyboard to how I like to fly and went to start playing. I get the sound but no visuals, when I get out of the game I get a small message saying Gfx stopped working but has recovered. It's the only thing my comp does it on, Aces High, rise of flight and Warbirds work fine. Any help appreciated or should I just chuck it out and call it a $12 loss.

Did you install the latest beta patch? cliffs crashed a lot before roughly the last two patches.

P.S. If the power supply was the issue, the whole computer would crash, on my old core2 i had a 450w PSU driving two HD3870's for a long time, and after a while my machine started to get really slow and unstable, and then one day it got so bad windows 7 wouldn't boot, so i had to put winxp on it just to load into windows.... then it just wouldn't power up anymore... replaced the PSU and my computer sped back up, win7 started etc.

now another time i had a 6800GS with bad ram, then you get little dots and artifacting, as if you've overclocked ur vram too much.
I also got some of the symptoms you were getting too, but that's cause there's more than one reason why you can get some of them...

simply... overheating issues or power issues... if the videocards driver ever crashes, and only in one or two games, it will be one of those two reasons... because there's nothing wrong with the actual card if it displays even 1 single frame correctly.

could be caused by bad drivers or a bug in the game, but if you're the only one having this problem and you're using the same drivers as everyone else... drivers aren't the problem...
