I wouldn't worry about the 'paper doll' effect Maddpady. You dont actualy see you character in battle. And you wouldnt be able to really tell from the representation of your character on the map screen.
True, a lot of games prosper from the 'paper doll' effect, but in this game, it matters not at all.
