I believe that particular picture is called 'High Summer'. Check out his website, some really good pictures on there.

I just about freaked out when I saw your artwork there, James! You've captured the essence of the times and location so bloody well! The MGTC, the NAAFI truck, the squadron dog, etc, etc. Bloody good show, mate! What's your website for more pics?

I like the Guiness bottle myself...I think someone posted it earlier in this thread , but to repeat:www.jamesdietz.com. Its actuallly my publisher's site so it shows mostly military prints , but there are quite a few aviation ones there as well.
To get back to main thrust of this thread ( and as intially posted) the splash screens are pretty bad( clearly no one with any real art background was resposible or expertise in Aviation CG art,)not even as good as the default ones in Il-2 that we are now free to changeat will. One of the main & beautiful strengths of this flawed sims are the screen-shots which are positively gorgeous! I'd love to use them & change them from time to time. There are some very very talanted CG artists who would probably jump at the chance to do great BoB splash-screens,why can't 1C ubisoft see this & change before Battle of Moscow rears its ugly ( yet somehow ,welcomb) head?
