It means that the hero doesn't have enough leadership for this particular amount of troops. His leadership parameter has decreased.

Yeah, it happens when you wear an item that gives a leadership bonus, recruit the maximum amount of troops, then take the item off.

Unlike in the old original King's Bounty, such unruly troops with exceeded leadership won't attack your remaining ones, but just move around the battlefield aimlessly.

You are a little bit wrong. Besides moving around, the unruly troops can attack either enemy, or your other units, but when the amount of them becomes suitable for your leadership, these troops will return to your control.

Wow, very interesting. Figured it would be bad just because the way it was red. Sounds like a neat idea though (ive never played the first KB), thanks for explaining
