noob to Il2 Sturmovik COD- virtually unplayable- need help/advice please!

I do not have either SLI or Crossfire but from what I have gathered theses do not wok properly in Clod at the moment.

The GT 590 is essentially an SLI platform on one card.

If it is possible I would try to turn off one GPU and go to a single monitor until things are improved.

The patch made SLI worse, but I heard from a few crossfire users they are running at a much better frame rate.

thanks everyone for your help- in it's current state the GTX 590 is running in SLI- it was disabling the aero 'desktop composition' that helped (this doesn't affect aero in windows in general does it- only in COD- correct?)- have yet to try without SLI- running off of one GPU- are you saying disabling SLI and running off of only 1 GPU will actually increase frame rates? I seem to be discovering about lack of support for SLI for some sims all at the same time- just tried to get X plane 10 to run- found out I had to disable SLI/run off of only 1 GPU to get it to even run- otherwise it crashes on startup- not worth it to me as I would prefer to use my video card in the way it's meant to be used and not have to change modes and screen resolutions between sims and games all the time...

PS- anyone know when the ETA of the next stable optimized patch will be (eg. the official next update is that's the stable version of current Beta Patch 1.06.17582)? Are the developers still continuing to update this sim (and oficial updates will continue to come via steam) or is it all done by the community at this stage and will have to be manually updated via downloads from this site?

I will do some exploring of COD and look forward to getting onto Ts3 soon- thanks again guys

The aero just turns off the fancy transparent windows and can be turned back on easily.

Frame rates improve without sli? not sure but the sli guys I know mostly have it shut off untill its properly implemmented.

ETA for patch? 2 weeks lol, maybe this friday

Updates-Beta updates are manual through this site but easy.

Official updates smartly update for you via steam.

Thanks Major Borris- I think I'll keep SLI on for now as it seems relatively OK- does the new official patch have any known improved support for SLI- where can I find more info on this new official patch on this site you say is soon to be released via steam (what's it called/version number- same number as beta patch 1.06.17582 - minus the 'beta' status)? thanks for generous support!
