Helrza : heh, If it's an upgrade and you got it at a massive discount it makes sense, just feared you had splashed crazy cash buying all of that stuff new.

Borris : I dunno, think it's a case of them covering all possibilities (like people with horrible app infested pc's) so they don't get complaints later on.
I've had firefox sapping 1gb with multiple tabs open, forgotten to close Football Manager which sapped another 1.5GB and still didn't get anywhere near 8GB of ram usage while having 150planes in the air during The Enlightened Florist's campaign.
On the other hand 2Gb of Videoram get's sucked up easily by CLOD, yet they only advise 1.8GB..so that makes me doubt their specs even more.
Nevermind their SLI/crossfire recommendation which causes microstutters in itself, as discussed in lenght by many hardware sites.

In the end I guess 12gb could be useful in some rare and extreme cases, but for me anything you don't use fully right now is a waste in the PC business. Prices only drop and the tech advances too fast to make previous investments last.

...Sorry for derailing your happy thread Helrza , enjoy your new build and maybe you'll even shoot me down while I'm stuttering and you have silkysmooth FPS.

Like HDDs did? and RAM a couple of years ago? If the price is low now, get it now, I say.

Hahaha, think nothing of it mate, u havnt derailed nothing no need to be sorry at all its more the excitement of having something that runs it at full potential and i had to share it with some one

I did although splash out on all of it brand new, ive been building computers for myself for a good few years now, i just wanted something a little more hectik than usual I saved up for about a year to get all of it, and tbh, i dont care about the cost of it... i cant take my money with me if i die

Once i get my stick, and i get used to the flight controls, u can be sure ill be shooting you down, provided i can find you
