Now go put a small block v8 on that bicycle and tell me what those little tires do? (They'll spin )

In simple layman's terms, you use the right tire for how much power you have if your main goal is to accelerate. Bicyclist can spin the tires as well ( a human) but they aren't going to spin those tires once up to speed no matter how hard they cycle.

Depends what you want to achieve:
