ARMA stuff has allways been a realistic first person shoot first and formost.. that 'allowed' you to drive dumbed down vehicals and dumbed down airplanes and hellos

So if your expecting a realistic WWII tank and flight sim.. Don't get this!!

But if you can accepted some dumb down aspects to 'GET IT ALL' in one package than I think you will like this game!

In that is all we got to choose from.. At least until CoD sequals include the same.. and hopfully at a little less dumbed down level

Played ArmA for years. I understand about the poor vehicle modeling.

Tanks seem much improved, the AI's still some what random. Like the mortar fire-control, some issues with black screens. For £15 though, it's a pearl.

Exactly, and if you like missions where you end up with only one kill after a 30 minutes this is also for you. And where you accept that the AI can be really stupid at times but they never act in the same way "on rails"... It feels almost as stupid and awesome in this game as it did years ago in Operation Flashpoint Trucks running into obstacles, but never the same obstacle which makes it different every time... I remember some co op mission in OPF that me and a friend played 20 times or so to beat. Every time the AI did some new thing so our plan had to change and that changed how the AI acted in response... Finally we sneaked around the whole map and tricked that darn AI BMP into a trap One of my best gaming memories!

That is one of their strong points.. The AI does not have that 'waiting for a trigger' feel to it.. That is to say they will not stand there for ever waiting for you to come around a corrner.. They will seak you out and come around that or another corner!

Very slightly OT but I need technical advice. After playing for a day & a half ,Steam stopped letting me play saying my license was not verified(?) & now requires a code ( which I don't have) to start game.I've verified cache files & that doesn't help.I'm thinking of doing a whole new reinstall , but don't know how or where to start...Any ideas?

Sounds like you installed a beta patch (they should not be used with Steam version). If so remove the patch files manually and then check integrity again.

Not 100% sure what your refering to..
