It did not cost that much as I sold my "old" CPU, an Intel 2500K to cover the price. Ivy Bridge cost around 300€, mobo was less than 100€, memory some 80€ etc. But I have always sold my old parts and saved up the difference to new parts so that helps a bit to keep the costs lower. As comparison ran with SSAO On and AA at 2x, results below. SSAO does cause a slight performance hit, especially seen with VSync Off and also causes some more stutter without giving that much to overall IQ. Black Death Min: 5fps Max: 68fps Avg: 55fps I ran the first test posted above with Morphological Anti-aliasing enabled, did not affect performance the slightest while killing jaggies. The new 2.0 version sure is better and I hope they keep improving it. |
