In the first scenario, check out one of the Soviet snipers, he is wearing pea pattern pants. Dont worry, others will fully reskin the uniforms in good time, I'm actually working on it right now. As for the Jagdpanzers and other tanks, its only a matter of time as well before those appear in the game.
All in all, its a very good game that runs well, and is quite enjoyable. It's almost what Clod BOM is trying to be with their ground units.

I'm still trying myself to figure out how to enable armory and boot camp, should be unlocked, might check the deepsilver forums. As to the games, its wonderful, and if you have a 3 gig gpu, you can set all the eye candy to ultra, and then the resolution and detail is amazing. I don't know what setting those are using who pan the game for lack of good resolution, it's there for me.

Mamma mia. I begin to understand the woe of game developers trying to make people happy.
Read the post immediately before mine. I was taking the piss.

I've a GT9800 1gb, a Q6600 and 4GB of RAM and the game runs much more smoothly than I dared to hope. I've not yet gotten into anything really hairy but so far, although there are some issues when the particles are flying, this game looks absolutely fantastic. On a high end system it must look astonishing. Perhaps the panners haven't figured out they need to increase 3d res as well as screen res?

Got this yesterday and it seems brilliant so far. I have to say, it's considerably better than I44, but there are still a few things missing. For example, the first time I died I got the usual 'Ah f... that hurts!' in the weird German accent that you get in OA, but other than that it seems great!

Has anyone tried the mission editor yet? Have all the scripting codes been carried over from Arma?

The only thing in i44 that I find annoying is the AI... is this one better?

Are soldiers running for cover or do they stand there looking at you for some seconds instead of firing?

It seems pretty good, the only problem I've come accross is that in the cutscenes in the German campaign the German officer seems to like to run away whilst speaking to you, so you can't actually hear anything he says. The actual game AI seems very good though.

Hmmm it feels just like what it is, and that's a mod of Arma2 and nothing more. I don't feel the game brings anything new. Once the novelty of the voices and different weapons wears off, which is pretty quickly, you don't feel like it's a new game at all. Nothing seems to add to the immersion to make me feel that I'm on the Eastern front of 44.

The game continues to fuel my biggest gripe with Arma single player and that is that game play is not realistic due to the AI. This is pretty bad for a series that strives for realism. Will they ever work on the AI? It has the same problems since OFP from 11 years ago.

If you play realistically, that is avoiding getting killed at all costs, you'll find your AI buddies will get the enemy before you get a chance as they have super vision. Or the the enemy AI will kill all your buddies and then it's you against them solo or the mission is a failure.

The other option is to be more reckless and learn from your mistakes as you progressively die throughout the mission and reload the last auto-save to have another crack, until you know where all the enemies are and how to approach them. How's that immersive or realistic?

MP might be the place to be, but the usual case for me is if the server has a good ping, it's devoid of players. I'll continue for a bit, hopefully the campaign improves or I'll have luck with finding an MP server.

Ive been playing for a couple of days and it has its good points.
I think it has the same problems as Arma2 had though, and the graphics while good, are still no where near what can be done with a better more efficient graphics engine. Its a hardcore war sim with slightly better than average graphics with slightly clunky controls and control interface. Track-IR is the best thing going for it and i wish more FPS had it! Ultimately I get bored with it like i did with Arma2.

Red Orchestra 2 on the other-hand.... really nice graphics, good gameplay, great AI, good control set, great story telling, it really gets you in!
