Cool!

I just hope my stand alone (non-steam) version can be recgonised by steam once steam adds it.. steam has done that in the past, so they will most likly do it with this too

I can't wait to drive that King Tiger around pwning them T34s

I want a hard copy too..just want to get it on release date, as I dont think this title will have issues..based on armaII and they have already successfully modded it for Invasion. But Gamestop does not have it in its list..maybe Frys will.

I would even say that everything looks better than the I44 mod! That and I have been reading about some of the new stuff this adds to the base ARMAII engine.. Like taking into account the armor slop, thickness.. and what is behind it should you penetrate the armor. All in all this could be the WWII tank sim I have been waiting a very long time for!!

I'm in the same boat, having pre-ordered it couple of days ago, before the Steam announcement. How are updates, etc, handled on a Steam game not purchased through Steam? I just have to find the patches myself, or does Steam allow "official" updates to be d/l'd through their system?

If you don't buy it through steam, you download and manually install updates as in the patches, and Im sure they will be found on the official game site. Typicially I would rather buy the stand alone game...than through steam, but I'm having problems finding an hard copy at the moment. I'll probably get it through steam for now, then buy a hard copy when the price drops, just to make sure I have one.

I would have rather had it the other way around, preferred Steam, just for the ease of patching, or replacing upon computer change.

@ace: I wonder how much of a tank sim it will be, doubt there will be gears/transmissions, real engine management, but at least looks better than anything currently out there (WWII wise).

I think the tank play/graphics look very good, and I have a good feeling this game will work right out of the box, unlike some. The official game site says available now..but not yet on steam...this should be very entertaining! I still like CLOD, but would rather spend my time on something that works well.
