Steam may be something for the ego shooter kids. I am just too old for that.
I deleted Steam, because I felt it would make me mad. I hope they will rethink that policy before CloD is debugged so far, that I would like to give it another try.

The mother corporation 1C relies heavily on Steam (with its other releases). You can moan as much as you want, for 1C Steam is a good platform to publish things on without the hassle of having to print CDs and manuals. Publishers like such systems ...

Default I had a dream...

I had a dream... The CLoD would had replaced IL2 1946 a long time ago. I was really hoping that all the cheating in IL-2 1946 would have been stopped with punk buster or something.

I stopped playing IL2-1946 on multiplayer forums because I could never understand how I could be flying at 100% throttle , angle down at max speed and someone would just catch up to me shoot me down and fly by like i was doing 20kts. That got so old. It seemed I was always under powered and I adjusted everything as needed but I was always being out flown out sped all the time. I have no idea if people are hacking their aircraft or what in il2-1946 but that was something I thought would have been worked out.

The community as a whole should take care of the cheating, I would love to start playing either version again.

Not sure where you've been flying but my experience in 1946 was never anywhere close to what you're describing

Really they need some kind of anti cheat program... I am only saying that if me and 4-5 of my buddies would fly in a private server, we could take 15-20 minutes to shoot someone down.... get into a server on HL... it took like 30 seconds to get shot down. seemed like something was up.

15-20 minutes?? that is the problem fschris, You see most players in HL have been doing this sim for many, many years. a small burst is all that is needed to bring down a plane not 15-20 minutes. you would be dead in seconds with an experienced pilot.
I have been in HL for about 11 years and you hardly EVER see a cheater and if you do see a cheater everyone would know who he is. Next time you fly try recording so you can be sure. And IMO most pilots in HL are honorable and would never even consider a cheat.
