Well we definitely aren't going to get any new Ship/planes Luthier as already said that the game is dead in that respect, so all we can hope for is the game being fixed.

GUI
FSAA (this seems to be a problem even with the wip shots of BOM) And something Luthier still as not yet acknowlegded
DX11 (We should see this fully implemented as Luthier said a week after release that this was his main priority)
Bugs - Way too many mention, but one that really ruins it for me is fighting an aircraft that appears to have its gear down, when in reality it doesn;t, such an immersion killer.

Some sort of Custom Skin Cache, or at least put all the skins that shipped with the game in a special cache folder, the skins cause big stutter online but this could be easily solved, again a big immersion killer when the most popular servers only show default skins with no weathering. Being completely honest I dont see this problem ever being resolved.

The game is like a Russian T34 tank, great from a distance and as hugh potential but when you stick the magnifier on it you can see the shoddy workmanship.

It is resolved already. In the last patch skin loading protocol was changed to load skins slowly over time to prevent high network load and a freeze at the moment of engagement. That is why a skin was not visible in some cases if it was not 100% loaded yet even when enabled.

Servers keep skins turned off just to exclude another variable in fine-tuning settings for more stability, less lag and less bugs. It may change when a stable patch version is available.

Do not expect it any time soon. If you read any dev updates you can see that priorities have changed many times since then. The so called "DX11 API support" is there as announced but introducing many DX11 features now would further slow down development which is not what the majority of players want.

Hmmmm, Im not sure this is correct, we need ATAG Bliss here to clarify, I know he as tried everything to get even stock skins on their server without causing lag/stutter. The only thing that works is just to have a default skin.

You seem to have some insight on the development process; do you know why the devs implement a new grafics engine and not use DX11 features? This engine should be a long living component, so it somehow strikes me odd to not fully support DX11.

Sorry, I do not have much insight. I read 1C and sukhoi.ru forums and try to use logic to make reasonable conclusions.

The support for DX11 API is included in the game but "support" does not mean features. I did not say that the engine would not use any DX11 features either. It may use some features if feasible for the devs.

Most of development time of the game was spent when DX11 was not available yet. I conclude from this that most of the code is DX10 oriented. New engine is not written from scratch but uses old DX10 code too. After release the devs faced so many disasters that adding visual features/effects could not be their 1st priority. Since the devs are pressed for time with the patch and sequel they will use only those DX10/11 features which produce quicker results, definitely no complete rewrite of all visual effects to DX11. Also the devs already mentioned that the new engine does not look different. From all these facts it seems logical to me that most of the new engine will be DX10 based without DX11 "fully implemented". In the future when all videocards support DX11 it can be a different story.

IMO logic is more reliable base for expectations than dreams Wishful thinking is the main reason for frustration, not reality (the game) which is what it is. As Stalin would say "I do not have a better flight-sim development team for you." If someone thinks this is a very fruitful market to work on try talking any major game publisher like EA or Activision into making a WWII flightsim. LOL

Where does Nvidia's CSAA fit into this?

We can only hope but i doubt we can add CSAA via the NVIDIA CP.

Well we dont know at the moment klem, Luthier told us that Nvidia would support CLOD in their next driver, (there have been at least 5 new drivers since this) there as been nothing. That being the case we cannot apply CSAA through the control panel unless someone can tell me different. That being the case we have no idea if it works or not, I would suggest the latter.
