Don't the images just show the sun under different spectrums rather than a cycle/ at different times?

What I find very interesting is the shape of the spot. This kind of dark spots happen from time to time, but this triangular shape is very strange. They usually have iregular shapes. What could cause this kind of geometric shape with straight lines and sharp corners? I didn't see winds blowing in straight lines.
The spot can't be from the camera as there are images from multiple satelites that look the same. Here you see is what images StereoA and Stereo B satelites took: http://stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov/ There are also 48hrs time laps (MPEG videos) under some of those images and show the "slice" coming into view as the sun rotates around it's axis. Here's an example: http://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/assets/img/..._1024_0193.mpg I hope are not those sneaky Betelgeusians trying to steal parts from our sun to patch up theirs. ![]() It may have something to do with the remains of that blown up supernova, our solar system is flying through.
