There is a slight journalistic license calling the Brutus motor the "engine originally used to power the he111 bomber".

The 1925 BMW V1 was used in early civilian prototypes and the six pre-production he111C but not in any serial production machines used in WWII.

As we know, most WWII he111 variants used Jumo or DB powerplants.
