Right now is not advised to fly multi bomber formation because of the online memory leak.
If you fly close to multi engine planes for some time the game will crash. We keep some good distance between planes, or take different routes to the target and try to get there at about the same time. This way we can finish a target fast and get the heck out of there before the blood thirsty spits and hurricanes show up.

This cat and mouse game is quite addictive.
