Graphically WOP is impressive. But the problem is flight model is based on the first IL2 and campaigns are designed based on arcade settings. I have seen myself failing a mission because "It took too long".

It has a simulation component not as deep as CLOD or IL2 1946 but it's there
and you can enjoy it if you don't compare it with CLOD or IL1946.

If you are looking for a new sim try the free version of Rise of Flight. It includes 2 planes (not sure) + multiplayer + quick missions + campaign and once you buy new planes you get the full game which is basically demo + new planes

And the store to buy new planes

Well it is kind of arcade-ich, but if You're ww2 aircrafts enthusiast I would suggest You to get it, since I know it's cheap now... Beautiful graphics and playability on low end machines is big advantage. Unfortunate there is not much of simulation in there.

Watch it - I started on Birds of Prey for Xbox !

You would be suprised how many console players went out and bought a PC and IL1946 because they wanted more SIM properties than a console can support.

Don't quite understand that comment or it's relevance to the topic... Is the hammer a cryptic reference to a SpitMk1a by any chance.?....if so - Viva la Spitfire.......

It's definitely worth a play, it's not IL2 and it's not CoD but it looks great, performs well and the Flight models and damage models are adaptations of the IL2 engine. Campaign is quite immersive though it would have been better with proper accents for commentary. It's great for a quick custom dogfight too, AI isn't unreal but it's still fun. Not quite simulation but much more than an arcade sim compared to other efforts. I actually prefer it to RoF but that's probably just my bias to the plane set and period.

It's an arcade game in every sense of the meaning.
Here is great representation of the game.

From TomcatVIP: MP was a burden or a plea to play with strange individuals gaming the play with strange FM, UFO moves or simply ground scratching flight. As an admin it was not even possible to ban them as an hosting server.
I'm not sure as to when your experience comes from, but in the two years since release the game has come a long way. You can certainly kick people from your own server if you don't want to have them in your game.

TomcatVIP: But moreover the fact that we had to pay for the patch that could cure all the basics bugs the game have encountered was simply a shame
Don't know what you are talking about, I've never had to pay a cent for any update in that game and there were many.

Seems to me that your opinion is somewhat dated. Your video is from the Beta, more than two years ago. Yes you can fly this game with Arcade settings if you want to (including icons, sounds, music, etc.) but you don't have to. It's far from an Arcade game when you play it at full settings, or would you say that the video I posted above shows you Arcade gameplay?
