the only two-bladed props on Spits were fixed pitch AFAIK, and surely not that tiny in diameter!
Frankly the "certificate" she mentions is just a piece of typewritten paper, and could well be a fake. I'm not doubting she might be in good faith, but maybe she's been ripped off herself.. following the auction, let's see where this goes..

The letter states "display props" its unlikely it was really used on a Spit MkI
In fact the letter does nothing to verify their integrity as genuine but makes it look less likely to be so. The seller is in a state of denial "idiots only allowed to buy this item"  . Last edited by KG26_Alpha; 01-06-2012 at 02:37 PM.

just for the sake of science, you can scroll down here and see what a Watts propeller looks like (and how long it is)
http://www.spitfirespares.com/spitfi...ropellors.html I thought they could be wooden propeller blades from a 4 blades prop, but the real ones are 145cm long, even if more similar in shape. http://www.tennants.co.uk/Catalogue/Lots/121794.aspx they're probably props for some other British aircraft, but God knows what and surely not worth 2 grand!

I asked the seller the size of the prop. She says each blade is 5 feet long. Hard to tell as there is no scale, but they don't look that long to me. She also said [and I am quoting exactly as written] "...thay came of the proter tipe whitch is at ducksford".

even if those are two single Spitfire propeller blades (which I still seriously doubt) from a 4 bladed set, the makeshift two blades prop layout is bogus enough to me..
