Did that include the build up where Hurricanes were brought over by No.81 Squadron to Vaenga as part of the lend-lease?

I must say that personally for me North Africa/Med would seem a logical step forward and as said it has not been done before to any depth

The aircraft would also lend themselves to 'Leaning in to France 41-42' on the BoB map (excluding long range bombing and Allied heavies which would presumably be another Sequel).

+1, however the fact that it's the next logical step is most likely the reason why it isn't the next step.

For 1C as an east european puplisher, the Battle of Moscow is the next logical step, maybe they think their audience is more interested in east szenarios then west.

Possibly, but I think moving to the 'East' will convince people in Central/Western Europe and the America's not to buy any add-on, especially if the only way to fix the current game is via this route.

Eastern front is fun, because:

1) Planeset is very varied: from biplanes like I-153 to high altitude MiGs.
2) Weather and landscape are rich (I mean, it is not channel or desert).
3) Ground war is very intense. Lots of work for ground attack planes, and fighters covering them. Frontlines can move pretty fast - important for MP and dynamic SP campaigns.
4) It does not require bunch of planes, which can't be made without paying royalties.

The planeset for BOB and BOM are essentially same when broken down: small ,slow early war trainers with inadequate ammunition and fuel . The type of missions are nearly identical, relatively small groups of bombers and fighters attacking local tactical targets i.e airfields from close proximinty. With a large city London/Moscow, of little ,tactical relavance except to eat up computer resources.

The PTO was probally out of the question, modelling the participating Navies would require much time and unavaible resources.

North Africa/Med would have provided more diverse mission opportunities and
planeset.
